We can easily be led by our fears or emotions, but we must learn how to be led by the Spirit.

Has a bad decision or a past incident left you carrying fear? I had 2 infections back in the summer. The doctors prescribed me a cream that caused bad itchiness all over my body throughout the night.

When the second infection came back positive, they prescribed me another medicine in a cream form. I had much hesitation with this cream medicine because of my bad previous experience with another cream medicine.

As I was about to decline the medication, I felt the Holy Spirit convict me that I didn’t seek the Lord, whether I should take the medicine, but instead I was about to make a decision out of fear.

To my surprise, I felt the Lord say to take the cream medicine. There was fear in my stepping out in faith, but I knew my decision to take this cream was out of faith and not fear.

I took the cream, and it didn’t give me any bad reactions but aided in my healing. This situation was a great reminder for me to be led by the Spirit.

Do not be led by fear

Before making a decision, ask yourself: “Am I making this decision out of fear or faith? Am I doing this because I’m afraid of (insert reason), or am I doing this because I feel the peace and leading of the Lord?

There’s a difference between being afraid as we step out in faith and making decisions driven by fear.

We cannot be led by the Holy Spirit and fear. The spirit of fear and the Holy Spirit are 2 separate spirits. If we want to be led by the Holy Spirit, we must remove fear by renewing our minds with God’s truth.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Choose to be led by the Holy Spirit because He knows what is best.

Fear is a tactic of the enemy. It was fear that stopped the Israelites from entering the Promised Land (Numbers 13-14). Joshua tells the Israelites in Numbers 14:9, “Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”

Joshua already warned the Israelites to not fear, but they gave in to fear and missed out on God’s best.

We also see in Jeremiah 42-43 that the remnant of Judah was afraid to remain in Judah under Babylon, and instead disobeyed God out of fear and went back to Egypt (to what seemed safe and comfortable). Jeremiah comforts the people with God’s word by saying, “Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him,’ says the Lord, ‘for I am with you, to save you and deliver you from his hand” (‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭11).

The leaders of the remnant of Judah, unfortunately gave in to fear and ended up dying in Egypt. They disobeyed the Word of God out of fear.

Fear never leads us to God’s best. The enemy uses fear to cause us to disobey God. Let us not partner with the spirit of fear, but instead walk by faith and follow the Holy Spirit.

How to receive the Holy Spirit

We need the Holy Spirit. Living with the Holy Spirit cannot be optional for followers of Jesus.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, His Spirit, the Holy Spirit lives in us. Through Jesus, we are baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11).

The Holy Spirit gives us joy in the midst of pain, strength in times of suffering, and boldness with God’s wisdom and power to be a witness and ambassador of Jesus. He also teaches and reminds us of all things that Jesus tells us in the Word (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit is who reveals Jesus to us and allows us to be close and intimate with Him.

Jesus overcame death and is coming back for us. Though He is not physically with us, He is with us every day by His Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us that we will face trouble in this world, but we can take heart that He has overcome the world (John 16:33).

We get filled with the Holy Spirit by asking the Holy Spirit to fill us and surrendering our lives daily for Him to take over. Surrendering ourselves to the Holy Spirit looks like denying our own fleshly desires to seek and yield after His desires.

Galatians 5:24-25 says, “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

Every day we are invited to walk by the Spirit and not the flesh.

The disciples needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit, so how much more do we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

Leaning on the Holy Spirit

Let us not forget that we have 24/7 access to our Helper, the Holy Spirit. Even though Jesus is not physically with us, we have Him ever present with us through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

Jesus even tells us that it is to our advantage that He departs so that we can receive the Holy Spirit who is our Helper.

Jesus says in John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”

Are you actively seeking guidance and help from the Holy Spirit?

May we lean on the Holy Spirit in everything we do. Jesus knows what is best for us in every area of our lives.

We can lean on the Holy Spirit in how to respond to our spouse if we are married, how and when to discipline our kids if we are parents, how to make decisions for our future as a college student and adult, and more.

The first step to leaning on the Holy Spirit is to first acknowledge the Holy Spirit. Before you work on an assignment or tackle a problem, ask the Holy Spirit to give you the wisdom and strength you need. The Holy Spirit will not force His way on us. He speaks as much as we invite Him to speak.

The Holy Spirit is gentle, but convicting. We can quench the Holy Spirit’s voice in our lives if we continue to disregard His guidance. The more we disregard the nudge of the Holy Spirit, the more we quench our ability to hear the Holy Spirit. God says in 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬, “Do not quench the Spirit.” Be open to listening to the Holy Spirit, even in areas where you may think you know what is best.

Humility is our willingness to be lowly and seek God. A humble heart is a repentful heart.

Will you be intentional every day to listen and yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading?

Do you want to grow in hearing the Holy Spirit? It starts with obeying and yielding in humility to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Our choice to hold on to offense, fear, grumbling, and willful acts of sin quenches the work of the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus in us and through us.

There’s no better way than following where the Spirit leads (which will always align with Jesus and His Word—the Bible).

Our anxieties and fears belong in the hands of Jesus. The next time fear comes, give it to Jesus through prayer, and trust that He hears you and has you covered.

God tells us in Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The peace of God comes as we surrender our worries into His hands. Surrendering to God means we trust God with the process and result of what we are worrying about.

So remember, give your worries to Jesus and be led by the Spirit.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit to guide us, help us, and lead us in truth. Forgive us for the times we allow fear or emotions to make our decisions instead of seeking You first. Teach us to surrender our worries, anxieties, and plans into Your hands. Help us to walk by the Spirit daily, trusting that You know what is best for every area of our lives. Lead us in peace, faith, and obedience. Amen.

God promises to never abandon the godly. We do not have to live in fear when we fear God. We can rest in the fear of the Lord.

Have you ever struggled with the fear of missing out on God’s blessings if you messed it up? I’ve struggled with the fear of not having enough financially if we weren’t perfectly doing what we needed to do with our business.

I had fears we wouldn’t make enough for the month as I saw my husband struggle at times to prioritize his time towards getting leads. That fear led to more fears but as I spent time with Jesus, He led me to Psalm 37 and reminded me that God is with us and for us—He will not abandon us.

Psalm 37:28 says, “For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die.“ What a comforting truth to know that God never abandons the godly.

We are to do our part and steward what God has given us, but God is also available to have our back when we mess up. Like any good parent, God is there to help us when we need help.

Psalm 37:24-25 says, “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.“ ‭‭As we look to Jesus and follow Him closely, He upholds us with His hand.

If you have been living in worry, rest and know that as children of God, you have nothing to fear.

As we fear God and live rightly before Him, we gain the privilege of having the peace of knowing that God is with us and will never abandon us.

It can be easy to be afraid and worried when we look at ourselves, but as we remember that God is with us, we can have confidence that God will help us and that we are not alone.

This does not mean we will not face trouble and trials as God’s people, but we can rest knowing God is with us and for us through the troubles we will face. We all have the opportunity to be God’s children through Jesus if we accept Jesus as our Savior and follow Him (John 1:12).

1 John 3:10 says, “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”

Let us turn to Jesus knowing there is no better place to live than in Him. We may not see God’s throne with our physical eyes now, but His throne does exist in heaven. There will be a time when we will see God with our physical eyes as Jesus comes back to establish a new heaven and earth.

Psalm 99:1 says, “The Lord reigns; Let the peoples tremble! He dwells between the cherubim; Let the earth be moved!“

Now is the time to fear God and surrender our lives to Him. It will be too late to submit our lives to Jesus when He comes back. His grace is available now but we will see His righteous judgement when He comes back. We must live with the fear of the Lord now and every day.

John 5:27-29 says, “and God has given Him authority to execute judgment also because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.”

There is protection available when we live according to God’s word. God promises that our feet will never slip into the wrong path as we keep His word in our hearts.

Ask God to help you see His law as wonderful (Psalm 119:18). Only in Jesus can we find an abundant life here on earth and for eternity. Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”

We will find rest as we fear God and obey Him. Pray and ask God to help you see Him rightly and live with the fear of the Lord.

There is ONE God seated on the throne of heaven and that is Jesus. He is the ruler of all. In the age to come, we will see Him with our very eyes. Revelations 4:2 says, “Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.”

Let us live with the fear of God now because He is God and He sees how we live. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Is your heart loyal to God? Do you see Him rightly as King over your life?

There is protection and eternal life with Jesus for those who live submitted to Jesus. Acts 4:11-12 says, “Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” So remember, rest in the fear of the Lord.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for never forsaking us and always being there to help us in our time of need. May we always aim to live rightly before You and find peace knowing that You will never abandon us.

I have to be intentional to catch myself worrying and instead cast my cares to Jesus— to choose not to worry and instead trust Jesus.

Worrying has been something I tolerated for so long and without me realizing it, I have been holding on to worrying about our finances and how we are to obtain a home and so much more. As I spent time with Jesus, He led me to 1 Peter 5:6 which says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

I looked up the Greek meaning of the word “cares.” It is a verb that means to be of concern or to be of interest. This gave me peace knowing that Jesus is actively concerned about what I am concerned about so I don’t need to be worried.

Instead of worrying, Jesus was inviting me to give Him my worries and trust He is for my good and will do what I can’t do on my own.

Whether you are worried about your loved ones, finances, or future, know that Jesus too cares about these things and He is more than able to meet your every need. As children of God who have made Jesus their Lord, we have access to His protection and provision.

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus invites us to exchange our worries for His peace. What have you been worrying about? Will you give your worries to Jesus and trust that He will take care of you?

Believing in God’s Word will always be safe and reliable. Only God’s Word (the Bible) is perfect— no system or person is flawless like God’s Word. Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”

We were never made to carry worry and our “what ifs”, but rather to cast our cares on Jesus and trust that He is our place of refuge— our place of security now and for eternity.

Where do you go to for help in times of trouble? Do you look to yourself, others, or Jesus for help? Will you look to Jesus, turn to God’s Word, and believe in what He says? Will you cast your cares on Jesus?

God is good. No matter what our circumstances may be, we must root our faith in God’s goodness and not in the condition of our circumstances. We may be hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed (2 Cor. 4:8-9).

We can still find God’s love and strength even in hard times as we abide in Jesus. He will always be our strength when our flesh is burdened. Rest and know that God is good and His love for us endures forever (Psalm 100:5).

We also have eternity as a promise from Jesus that there will be no more pain. Isaiah 60:20 says, “Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.”

As we remember that Jesus is our good Shepherd, we will leave no room for worry. We can cast our cares on Jesus knowing He cares about our lives (including the people involved in our lives) and our future. So remember, cast your cares on Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for caring for what we care about. We trust you Jesus exchange our worries for your peace because we know that you will take care of all our needs.

Worrying is a spiritual burden that weighs us down. The only way to not worry is to just trust God.

Instead of worrying about situations that we can’t control, just trust God who has control to do anything. There will be moments in our lives when we will need a miracle, but those are opportunities for God to move in mighty ways.

We just had our last Discover Your Purpose conference and found that every year brings a new challenge. This year we had 1 week to put a band together for the worship part and we didn’t find a keyboard player until the day before the conference.

In previous years we owed almost $2,000 and had 1 week to get the money to put the conference together.

Challenges come, but God has always come through. Instead of worrying, we prayed and God gave the solutions and opened the doors that needed to be opened.

You may be faced with a struggle beyond your control—will you trust God and look to Him?

God reminds us in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” He invites us to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us” (Matthew 6:33).

When worry and fear come, that is our cue to trust God. Fear can only leave when we choose to give our fears to God and trust that He is able to move for our good. We invite faith or fear by whether we choose to trust God or not. We must always choose faith over fear.

Inviting faith comes as we choose to simply trust God. There is no point in worrying when we remember we are not in control of our circumstances but that God is.

Our job is to seek first His kingdom and righteousness and everything else will be provided for (Matthew 6:33).

God did not call us to worry, but to live faithfully and trust Him. We can rest knowing that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

Let’s not forget that we have a Helper who is always with us, the Holy Spirit. When we are stressed or afraid, we can turn to the Holy Spirit who will counsel and comfort us.

Jesus says in John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

Remember that the God of the universe is with you. You don’t need to be afraid because you are never alone when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

How do we trust God? By looking at Jesus and not our circumstances.

When struggles come, look above to Jesus and not down at your circumstances. Psalm 121:1-2 reminds us to look up and remember that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

If we focus on our circumstances, we will be faced with the impossibility. As we focus on Jesus, we invite faith to believe that He can do the impossible.

Jesus is above any hardship we will face. He overcame death, so how could He not overcome your setbacks on this earth? He reminds us in John 16:33, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

There is no other thing or person in this world that can guarantee us anything. Only God can make promises that we can completely trust and only His Word will stand forever at the end (1 Peter 1:24-25).

Let us not lose perspective of who Jesus is in the midst of disappointments and setbacks. Jesus is seated on the right hand of God and He will reign forevermore (Colossians 3:1).

Instead of worrying about our fears, remember who God is and replace every worry with God’s truth.

David writes in Psalm 56:3, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” David wrote this while his life was in danger, but despite his circumstances, he still chose to trust God. The verses right before verse 3 say, “Be merciful to me, my God, for my enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack. My adversaries pursue me all day long; in their pride, many are attacking me.”

Instead of focusing on his circumstances, David chose to focus on God and give praise to Him (Psalm 56:4).

Whatever you may be facing, will you trust God that He is in control and is for you?

Whether our lives are in danger or not, we are called to trust God and praise Him. Trust God in all circumstances. So remember, just trust God.

Prayer: Jesus, even when we are faced with what seems to be the most difficult situation, may our first response be to not worry but to trust in You.

Fear will always arise to question what God has spoken, but we must stand firm in faith.

There have been many times when God has asked me to do something that caused me doubt. When God had put in my heart to break up with my ex, I feared whether I would regret the decision. When God told me to let go of my full-time job, I was scared I wouldn’t be financially stable. When God asked me to go to Jesus School, I thought every part of my life would crumble with all the responsibilities I had.

Though doubt filled my mind about the things God has asked me to do, I trusted Him at the end of the day. It was scary, but I chose to rely on my faith in God rather than my fears.

God came through in every area of my life where I obeyed Him, despite the fearful feelings I had.

The breakup led me to an accelerated time of growing in Jesus and meeting my husband, leaving my full-time job launched me into establishing Living Revelations and our business, and my life all around was double blessed from going to Jesus school.

The outcome of following Jesus and not our fears is a blessed life.

My journey of trusting God with all my heart isn’t over, and yours isn’t either.

Doubt will always arise to test what God has spoken. In these moments, we need to stand firm in faith and believe that God knows best.

The enemy will always use fear and doubt to pull us away from trusting God. It’s in these moments when we must make the choice to stand firm in faith and trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If we want to stand firm against the enemy’s schemes, we NEED to put on the full armor of God daily.

Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

The enemy will try to attack our faith, so it is crucial that we stand firm by having God’s truth ready as our buckle, the breastplate of righteousness to guard our heart, the shield of faith to cast down all doubts, the sword of the Spirit to tear every thought that speaks against the knowledge of God, praying in the Spirit for His divine protection, and the helmet of salvation to know that we belong to Jesus (Ephesians 6:13-18). ‭

Will you be ready to use the armor of God daily when fear, doubt, and any sinful throughts arise?

Our understanding of God and our circumstances are limited, so why lean on something that is so blinding? Let us lean on the voice and guidance of Jesus, trusting that He is always for our good.

Has God spoken a promise to you that sounded too crazy and impossible? When we look to the promise, it may seem impossible, but when we look to our God who made the promise, anything is possible. Faith arises as we look to God who can do the impossible (Mark 10:27).

Hebrews 11:11 says, “by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise.”

God had promised Abraham and Sarah that they would bear a child even though Abraham and Sarah were past the age to be able to have children. God spoke it, and by faith it happened.

To trust God with all your heart means to trust Him even when you don’t understand the “why” behind your circumstances.

Whatever God has spoken to you, will you trust Him and stand firm in faith no matter how impossible it may seem? Will you lean on God and not your fears?

Fear will only pull us away from the best that God has for us. The enemy uses fear to pull us away from obeying what God is asking us to do. This is why we need to replace every fearful thought with God’s Word and what He has spoken to us.

Faith is doing what God says despite what our fears may be.

In Jeremiah 42, we see the Israelites fearful of living under the king of Babylon. God however tells Israel through the prophet Jeremiah saying, “Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, whom you now fear. Do not be afraid of him, declares the Lord, for I am with you and will save you and deliver you from his hands. I will show you compassion so that he will have compassion on you and restore you to your land” (Jeremiah 42:11-12).

Unfortunately, the Israelites and official leaders listened to their fears. Instead of stepping out in faith and trusting God, they did the very thing that God told them not to do which was to go back to Egypt.

Egypt was their comfort zone because they remembered their lives were spared and food was provided though they were slaves. God however tells them if they go back to Egypt, the sword they fear will overtake them and the famine they dread will follow them into Egypt and they will die (Jeremiah‬ ‭42:16‬).

Because the Israelites acted out of fear instead of faith, they faced famine and death.

Let us remember to do what God says and not what is comfortable to us. Our fears may feel real and valid, but only what God says can be trusted.

Will you hold onto God’s Word with full confidence despite what you feel?

God has amazing plans for you, but it’s going to require you to walk by faith and follow Jesus in every step you do. You can rely on God’s faithfulness and expect Him to stay true to His Word and promises. God is not human that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

There is nothing good outside of Jesus. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him” (Jeremiah 17:7). So remember, stand firm in faith.

Prayer: Jesus, let our faith always be stronger than our fears. We place our confidence in You and hold onto Your word because You always come through for us.

When the enemy attacks us, God takes it as an attack on Himself. Our ultimate help comes from God and He is more than able to come through for us. You can depend on God.

I’ve been reading in 2 Chronicles, and the Lord is showing me that we need to have a healthy fear of God and recognize that He is God Almighty. When we see Him rightly, we realize that He alone is our source of help.

We can find rest even in our most difficult moments because God is our defender. He promises to never leave or forsake us here on earth, and into eternity after death.

In 2 Chronicles 14, we see that King Asa was attacked by an army that outnumbered his army. Though he was faced with a threatening situation, he rested in God. Let us make King Asa’s prayer in verse 11, our prayer: “Lord, it is nothing for you to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against you!”

King Asa says, “do not let man prevail against You!” He knew that the attack from the Ethiopian army wasn’t toward his people but toward God. Therefore, King Asa rested on the truth that God was able to overcome the enemy and defend them — which is exactly what God did. We, too, need to put our rest in God and not in our circumstances.

Will you give your frustrations and fears to God and trust Him no matter your circumstance?

Nothing is impossible for God. If God was able to help King Asa who only had an army of around 500 thousand men, while Zehra had an army of around a million men then God surely can come through for you.

Common sense says it would be impossible for King Asa to win this battle, but faith says that God can. Declare over your situation that God can.

When you are tempted to dwell in anxiety and fear, remember that God hears your prayers. It can be easy to look to our own ability or the things of this world to be our solution, but let us always depend on God, who is our ultimate help.

Unfortunately, King Asa later forgot what God had done years back when He delivered his people from Zehra. Instead of going to God for help and counsel when King Baasha of Israel came to attack, he sought the help of King Aram, who was not even a kingdom that God wanted His people to partner with (2 Chronicles 16:7-9).

Let us be people who seek God for help. When we try to be the solution to our own problems, we open the door to being misled and falling into the traps of the enemy.

We only have one Savior, and that is Jesus.

What would it look like if we believed that God is our ultimate help? Only God is reliable. Our abilities cannot compare to God. No amount of finances can compare to God. No other people or gods can compare to the Almighty God. Peace comes when we remember that, as children of God, our lives are in His hands. God wants us to cast our anxieties on Him and know that He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

When we fully surrender our lives to Jesus, we are guaranteed to see God’s goodness and mercy all the days of our lives (Psalm 23:6). We are not promised a life with no troubles, but we are promised to have the comfort and power of God to get us through victoriously. God has testimonies that He wants to birth through your life, but it will require you to depend on Him.

Will you put your trust in God and choose not to worry?

We should always be at rest because God is for us, and is Almighty. He alone is the One who can keep us safe from harm. This is a simple truth that life will test us on. Fearful thoughts will creep in; but in those moments, we must remind ourselves that God is for us. So remember, you can depend on God.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for being my help in times of trouble. Help me to rely on You, and You alone, to carry me through.

Fear prevents us from experiencing the best that God has for us. We must trust that God is in control and is leading us to the right path. Don’t be afraid.

I never thought I could give birth naturally, and if I hadn’t stepped out in faith, I would never have known that I could give birth naturally. But with God, everything is possible to the one who believes (Mark 9:23).

Have you ever been so afraid that you wouldn’t be able to get through a situation? That was me midway through giving birth. 12 hours had passed and I was still contracting, yet not in the final stage of labor. I was exhausted, and the contractions were coming every 5 minutes. I started to question whether I could make it through the final stage of labor with no medication. In the moment of fear, my midwife reminded me of 1 John 4:4, “…the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

I was reminded that I can go through this and it will not break me because Jesus is with me. Jesus who is in me is greater than any evil principality in this world — I need not fear.

Fear tells us we can’t, but faith tells us we can with God.

Will you trust that God is with you and will help you to overcome your fears?

We all have fears, but we must not allow our fears to paralyze us from doing what God is calling us to do. Fear never comes from God. The enemy uses fear to prevent us from seeing God’s mighty hand move upon our lives. We see in the Bible that the Israelites missed out on their promise land because they were afraid they couldn’t defeat the giants in the land that God promised He would give them (Numbers 13-14).

Whatever doubt or fear you are facing, know that Jesus is greater. We don’t ever have to question whether Jesus is for us. He is good and has good plans for us as His children.

In Mark 4, the disciples were in a boat going through a storm. Though Jesus was with them, the disciples still feared their lives because of how great the storm was. The disciples woke up Jesus saying, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (Mark 4:38). Jesus then got up and rebuked the wind and calmed the waves. He told the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40).

Jesus confronted his disciples for questioning his care towards them and his ability to do all things. The disciples realized at that moment that even the wind and waves obey Jesus. They went from doubting Jesus to trusting Jesus.

Nothing is too great for God. Instead of crying out to Jesus in fear, let us cry out to Him in faith. We can face every challenge and storm knowing that God is able to get us through safely. The world can only give us peace when circumstances are good, but Jesus gives us peace even in the midst of our storms.

Jesus says in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
‭
In the midst of fear, let us remind our hearts to look to Jesus and not our circumstances. No matter what storms we may face, we have a mighty God who is with us and for us. Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Have we realized that the God who is for us is in control, that even the wind and waves obey Him?

When God’s ways don’t make sense, trust Him because He always leads us to the right paths (Psalm 23:3).

The places God calls us to can seem scary, but God knows exactly where we need to be. Trust where He is leading you. God calls us to places outside of our comfort zone to show us that He is God and anything is possible for Him. Everything He does and calls us to is meant to glorify Him. Don’t miss the best God has for you by refusing to follow where He leads. Keep going, keep trusting.

He is our Shepherd who cares about us and knows what is best for us. There is no need to question God’s ways.

Matthew 28:20 is such a comforting reminder that Jesus promises to 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒖𝒔 now and for eternity. There is never a moment in life where we have to fear the unknown. As long as Jesus is with us, we are in good hands.

Neither death nor any bad circumstance can separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:38-39). Invite Jesus to make Himself more real to you. We serve a God who longs to reveal Himself to those who are hungry for Him. As you spend time with Jesus and encounter Him, His peace will rule in your heart. Let your faith be rooted in Jesus. He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7).

The biggest breakthroughs tend to come from the biggest steps of faith we take. So remember, don’t be afraid.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for being in control of the wind and waves in my life. Help me to calm my fears and move forward in faith.

Fear can be our greatest enemy if we don’t learn how to fight them off. The only way to overcome our fears is to speak truth over them. Truth is found in the word of God. It contains all we need to tear down the lies of the enemy. It’s time to fight our fears.

Fear is contagious. When we entertain fear in one area of our lives, it spreads to other areas of our lives.

That was where I found myself at, in a mixture of fear all around.

God had opened the door and confirmed to my husband and me to go to Singapore for a missions trip. However, we only had less than 2 weeks to raise funds for this trip. Going to this trip would also be a sacrifice for my husband since he had planned to use this summer to build up finances.

Worries started going through my mind. What if we don’t raise the $3500 that we need? What if our endeavor’s to raise finances fail? Soon enough I found fear seeping through other areas of my life.

I know God had called me to give myself to establishing Living Revelations ministries, but I had fears that I wouldn’t be capable to build partners to sustain the ministry. I started having doubts about other promises that God has spoken to us such as bringing us a house to live in.

In my alone time with Jesus was where He awakened me and said, “It’s time to fight your fears.”

I realized that entertaining all these fears would do no good for me and only pull me away from persevering in the path that God wants me to be in. At that moment I decided to fight my fears with God’s truth.

“God I know you will bring partners for Living Revelations. You have birthed this ministry in me and I will not let discouragement tempt me to give up. I will continue to keep your way, hope in you and trust that you will exalt me to inherit your promises (Psalm 37:34).”

“God, you say that you always do immeasurably more than what we ask or imagine so I believe you will provide more than enough for this Singapore trip (Ephesians 3:20).”

We have been equipped with the word of God to fight our fears away. The word of God is our sword to use against our fears. Ephesians 6:17 says, “…Take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.”

2 Corinthians 10:5 says, “…take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Speaking the word of God over the lies of the enemy is the way to make our thoughts obedient to Christ. The Bible is your weapon to fight against your fears and doubts.

What fears have you been battling with? It’s time to fight your fears with God’s truth.

Use every moment of fear to cause you to press into the battle of prayer with God’s truth. The enemy tempts us to not get in the word of God because he doesn’t want us to have our sword for battle; He wants us defeated. But now is the time to pick up our sword and fight through the lies.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” The enemy uses fear to take us off from God’s path, however, faith will lead us to God’s path.

Faith is choosing to believe what God said over what we see.

There will be times in our lives where we will be faced at a crossroad; to choose the path of fear or faith. It’s when we choose to obey God and the path of faith that we can walk into the good plans He has for our lives.

Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Are you faced at a crossroad? Will you choose to take the path of faith?

We will see God’s miraculous hand move upon our lives when we choose to partner with faith.

We see throughout the Bible the results of those who chose to walk by faith and not by sight. Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered God faithful who had made the promise (Hebrews 11:11). Moses was able to see the Red Sea split and watch His people cross the Red Sea into safety (Hebrews 11:29). There are many more faith stories in the Bible that we can read to encourage our own faith walk.

We have today to make the decision to live such a life of faith as those in the Bible. It’s through faith that many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.

This is the year of acceleration where God wants to give us the grace to do what He’s calling us to do. This doesn’t mean that we can take it easy, rather we will have to fight harder. It’s when we are close to our growing seasons that the enemy will try the hardest to bring us down.

Now is the time to get in the word and fight through prayer. So remember, it’s time to fight our fears.

When circumstances don’t turn out the way we want, we can easily worry. However, there should be no reason for us to worry. God knows what we need and has already gone before us. There’s no need to worry.

As a Christian, I know not to worry but I still found myself worrying over my financial situation. God had asked me to let go of my full-time job to pursue Living Revelations Ministries. This was such an inconvenient time for me because I just got married and my husband is currently not working full time either.

I found myself racing with doubtful thoughts. How are we going to keep ourselves sustained in the long run? We have to eat, bills to pay, and the list went on. My worries became so severe that I started to have bad thoughts about my husband and where God was calling me.

During my time with God, He told me to go to Matthew 6. My immediate response to Him was, “I already know Matthew 6.” That was the chapter where God talks about not worrying. He kept pressing me to open to that chapter so I did.

As I read Matthew 6, this passage hit me:

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matthew 6:31-32

God reminded me that He knows what I need. If he knows what I need, why am I worrying about what I need?

God has already gone ahead of me and knows the best for me. My husband’s parents even opened their home for us to stay temporarily as we look for a home for ourselves. God reminded me that He knew we needed a place to live so He put it in their hearts to let us stay at their place.

Worrying disregards the fact that God has already gone before us and has planned good things ahead of us.

God knows that we need to eat and survive and He would never ask us to do something that would harm our future. His word says He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Lord opened my eyes to see that He knows what I need and that it’s not my job to worry about it. Worrying doesn’t help our situation but only leads us to sin and bad thoughts. Matthew 6:27 says, “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

God gave me a vision of a girl in a nice mansion, worrying about what she will eat and what she will wear. God said I was that girl. I believe many of us are like that girl in that mansion, resting in the care of our heavenly father who is rich with abundant treasures, yet worrying about our lives and how we will survive.

We don’t have to worry about our lives if we are in right standing with God and living in His will. God promises that the righteous will inherit His blessings. Psalm 37:25-26 says, ” I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.”

God also says in Psalm 37:18 “The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.”

God is a good father who blesses His children. He will never forsake those who dwell in His shelter. God says those who dwell in His shelter will rest in His shadow (Psalm 91:1). When we choose to abide in Him, we can be sure that He will be the protector of our lives.

Have you been dwelling in worry? Will you entrust your life to Jesus as you surrender to Him?

God knows where He’s leading you. It may seem scary and His plans may not be your plans, but trust that His plans are always better. He knows the best way for you to get to your promise land. This is the year to step out in faith and follow Him. So remember, there’s no need to worry.

Prayer: Lord, you are a good father and I thank you that I am under your care.

We all have to go through hardships and battles. Whether we are a believer or non-believer, we all are susceptible to the imperfections of this world. The question isn’t whether you’re in a battle, but are you armored for battle?

After overcoming one of the hardest seasons of my life, I thought things would finally get easier. I was obeying God and doing all that He’d asked me to do, but after a time of victory, I was back into battle.

Accusations were getting thrown at me and fears from my past started to creep in again.

I remember asking God, “Why is this all happening? Aren’t I in your will?”

God then spoke to me one morning and said, “Just because you are armored doesn’t mean you are safe from battle. Because you are armored, you are ready for battle.”

It was in that moment when I realized God was preparing and equipping me this whole time to learn to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

Being a Christian does not mean we will pass through the hardships of life. We live in a world where the enemy is still roaring like a lion, seeking to devour us (1 Peter 5:8). But because we have Christ, we can go through battles and finish victorious.

Jesus says in John 16:33, “…In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” The pain of this world will be real and fear will be present, but with Christ, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

While we have Christ in us who helps us in our weaknesses, we still have to put on the full armor of God to win the battle. Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

What does the full armor of God look like? Ephesians 6:14-17 explains it:

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace… take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

We need to put on the full armor of God to come out victorious. The shield of faith is critical to block against the fears that the enemy will attack us with. We must be living in righteousness to prevent our hearts from impurity and hold on to the salvation that Jesus gave us. Lastly, we need to use the word of God to bring down any lies and temptations the enemy will throw at us.

Every aspect of the armor of God is crucial to successfully overcome the attacks of the enemy. If we are missing even one of the armors of God, we are giving room for the enemy to attack us. Imagine going into battle with everything except a sword. You may last for a while but will eventually die.

Just like any battle, we too are in an intense battle against the enemy. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” No matter what you are going through, know that Jesus is for you. He came to give you life to the fullest.

In the midst of my battles, I had to use the word of God as a sword to break down every accusation that was thrown at me. I learned that no lie of the enemy could bring me down because I was holding on to the truth of Jesus.

There is no weapon greater than the word of God. We can use the advice that the world offers, but it won’t sustain us. We will eventually wear out and grow weary. But God’s word is flawless. Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”

We must not entertain any thought but bring it down right away with the word of God. We are letting go of our armor in the midst of battle the moment we entertain bad thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5 reminds us to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

The enemy will throw fears in our mind that speak against the truth of God. It’s in those moments when we must make the choice to believe in God’s word over our fears. God’s word has never failed and will never fail. He has a faithful track record like no other.

We can be sure that on the other side of the battle is God’s promises for our lives. God was leading Joshua and the others to their promised land, but they had to go through impossible battles. Their first obstacle was to cross the Jordan river while it was at flood stage and the highest peak (Joshua 3:15).

Despite the impossibility, God was able to dry out the river the moment the priests who were holding the ark of God stepped into the river. All of Israel crossed the Jordan river on dry land (Joshua 3:17).

Through it all, God made one promise to Joshua that He is also promising us:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.“ Joshua 1:9

We may go through the toughest battles, but God promises to always be with us. Be bold and courageous because God is taking you through the battle into your promise land. You have a mighty God who is with you and for you. So remember, you are armored for battle.
