You have one life to live unto Jesus, so why not give your best and live to your full potential? When we understand God’s grace that was freely given to us, we will maximize the gifts He has given us. Live to your full potential.

I haven’t been the best at stewarding the gift of music and playing the keyboard unto Jesus, however, God has been reminding me that He’s given me this gift out of His grace and has a purpose for it.

Just as I have given my best in the area of learning the Word of God and teaching, I want to give my best in ALL other areas of my life.

We are called to be prepared in and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). God’s grace is given to us not to slack but to step into all He has planned for our lives.

Some of us are even called to serve under the fivefold ministry. Maybe it’s not your season to step into being a pastor, prophet, or other ministry offices, but what are you doing today to steward the call of God in your life for when that time does come?

“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians‬ ‭4:7, 11-12‬).

Let us use our time wisely as we know our time here on earth is short. When our lives end and this world passes away, only Jesus will endure forever and ONLY HE will matter. There is nothing more important than knowing Jesus and living our lives to fulfill His purpose for us.

We have one life to live for Jesus, why not live our best for Him and use our time to seek Him? We are not going to have another opportunity in the flesh to know Jesus and live for Him. No one also knows their last day.

Psalm 39:5 says, “You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”

How can you better steward your time to seek Him and do what He is calling you to do?

Your life is not your own. The abundant life comes as we give our time to Jesus and use it however He wants us to.

We have all been given gifts by God’s grace to serve others and this is not something we deserve.

We didn’t sign up and train for the gifts that God has given us. He has simply given them to us as an opportunity to serve His people and to do good works to fulfill His plans.

There is nothing more fulfilling we can do except to do what God created us to do.

“If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly” (Romans 12:7-8).

The enemy will try to rob us of using the gifts God has given us by distraction and sin.

Let’s be faithful in loving Jesus and using our gifts with His power to minister unto Him and His people. It was never optional to use the gifts God has given us, but required. God gave each of us gifts to use for His purposes.

It will require our sacrifice to use the gifts He has given us, but the reward of obeying God and serving His people will be all worth it.

How we use our time matters to God.

How can you better steward the gifts God had given you this year? Will you ask God what gift He longs you to step into in this season and give of yourself to it?

We get to make an eternal impact and see God move through the beautiful gifts He has given us. So remember, live to your full potential.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for the grace that You so freely gave to us. May we always walk with you and live to our full potential every single day.

We are called to shine Jesus in this dark world and be the light of the world. It’s comfortable to be like those around us, but we are called to shine.

God longs to shine through us so that HE may be known. In order for Him to shine through us, we have to be willing to stick out in the crowd by speaking and living out truth in love.

The enemy will try to diminish our light by enticing us to idolize the things of this world rather than Jesus. The enemy is crafty in that he tempts us to tolerate sins that may seem small, but if we continue to allow the enemy to diminish our light, we will end up being in the dark just like the world.

When we tolerate selfish ambition, we diminish our light.
When we choose to partner with lust, we diminish our light.
When we choose to love the attention of the world and not love God with all our soul, heart, and mind, we diminish our light.
When we choose to pursue things for our own fame and glory and not God’s glory, we diminish our light.

When we choose sin, we choose to hide the beautiful gift God has given us which is to glorify Him.

Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world….Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Life isn’t about getting people to know us, but about getting people to know Jesus.

Our culture is driven toward fame, but fame will never satisfy us. It will only leave us wanting more and draws us further from Jesus. Only living a life that pleases Jesus can truly satisfy us because He made us to be satisfied only by Him.

Selfish ambition and greed leave no room for our hearts to love God. We either love God with all our heart or we love our selfish desires. Let us be the ones that leave no room for selfish ambition and greed to exist in our hearts.

Will you choose to shine Jesus and be the light of the world?

When we surrender our lives to Jesus, we find life because Jesus is life. It’s not perfect conditions or materialistic things that will bring us joy, but an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus. It’s finding Him in our lives that brings us life.

Not only do we have eternal life with Jesus, but also an abundant life here on earth. In Jesus, we find a life filled with no fear, anger, insecurity, depression, and any other negative thing. Jesus says in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

To find Jesus will require us to say no to certain things in this world and will call us to a life of sacrifice, but following Jesus is the only way for us to find the abundant life our heart so desires.

Does Jesus have ALL of your heart? He is looking for lovers that will love Him with all their heart, soul, and mind (Matt. 22:37). Temptations will come to draw our affections away from the heart of Jesus. This is when we have to look back at Jesus and remember that there is nothing more beautiful than Him.

When anger, worry, jealousy, doubt, or lust arises, let’s look back at the one who is light. In Christ, all darkness leaves because He is the light of all mankind (John 1:4).

Let us not mix Jesus with our old self that Jesus has set us free from. Only in Jesus can we shine and be the light of the world.

Is there anything in your life that is diminishing the light of Jesus?

Anything that isn’t Jesus cannot bring truth, hope, and light because only Jesus is the light of all mankind (John 1:4).

There is only one truth, hope, and light in this world and that is Jesus. Our good deeds alone without Jesus cannot shine because they are temporary and impure.

We NEED a Savior which is why Jesus came to die and shed His blood for us to make us in right standing with God. We were all born into sin, but in Christ, we now are raised to life and are a NEW creation (2 Cor. 5:17).

Let us be like John the beloved who was so fixed on knowing Jesus. John was willing to lay down his life to know Jesus and was the only disciple at the crucifixion of Jesus. John didn’t care about the titles and about being the greatest. He just wanted to be the closest to Jesus. He was content with the title, the One whom Jesus loves. John 13:23-24 says, “One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him…”

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus who alone is pure and make Him our role model. We must be so dead to our own desires, passions, and pursuits and pick up Christ’s will for our lives. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me…” ‭So remember, you are called to shine.

Prayer: Jesus, remove anything or anyone from my life that is diminishing Your light. I pray that my eyes will be fixed on You and You alone.

We can only pick up 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂 when we choose to lay down our agenda. God is always at work and is looking for us to 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐦. Let us submit our agenda for His agenda.

In the midst of my alone time with Jesus, He told me to “slow down.”

He wasn’t talking about slowing the pace of my work, but slowing down from pursuing my own agenda so I can focus on His agenda. I’m a planner and I tend to stick with what I’ve planned out for the week. However, God was reminding me that there will be times when He may have different plans than what I have written down on my planner.

It’s during these moments that I must lay aside what I have planned and follow where His peace is guiding me in. We can easily fight against where God is guiding us to because it wasn’t what we planned or how we imagined things to be. When we find ourselves conflicting with God’s agenda, remember that God knows best.

We are called to do His will and not our own.

There were many demands and expectations upon Jesus, but His focus was always to 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. His agenda wasn’t built around pleasing Himself or others, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝.

We have the choice every day to set our own agendas, but have we stopped to consider what 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂? Jesus 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 what the Father did. He was about God’s agenda and not His own. His food was to do the will of the Father (John 4:34). Jesus says in John 5:19, “‘…the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.’“

Jesus only did what the Father did, and so should we.

In John 4 we see Jesus heading to Samaria. The disciples didn’t understand why Jesus had to go through Samaria, but Jesus knew why—He has a God-divine appointment there to meet the Samaritan woman by the well. John 4:4 says, “Now he had to go through Samaria.” To the disciples, Samaria was a detour, but to Jesus, it was a God-divine appointment on His Father’s agenda.

Because Jesus went to Samaria, He was able to reveal Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman. She believed in Jesus which led to the rest of the village believing in Jesus.

When we choose to lay our agenda for His agenda, we get to build His kingdom here on Earth.

There were many times when the disciples saw Jesus making “detours” or still ministering when they thought He should be resting. However, Jesus saw every detour and ministering opportunity as a 𝐆𝐨𝐝-𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 that was necessary on His agenda.

Let us be like Jesus and leave room for 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂 in our lives. God is 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 even when we don’t see it (John 5:17). He has an agenda during both busy and mundane days. We have the choice to tune in to the Lord and 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂. Whether we’re going to the grocery market, planning for big projects, or going to meet a friend, 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝. We get to pick up His agenda as we learn to lay down our own agenda.

Not only do we partner with God with our actions, but our words matter too. Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit who lives in us. He is constantly guiding us to do and say the right things. We have the option to follow our flesh or deny our flesh and walk by the Spirit. Every moment we choose to walk by the Spirit is us choosing to partner with God.

What do you need to add or take away from your agenda to pursue His agenda?

God has created you to glorify Him. There is a joy like no other when we are pursuing His will. So remember, submit your agenda for His agenda.

Listen more on this topic in our latest Podcast “Submitting Our Agenda For His Agenda”
Podcast (iPhone): apple.co/3l0fz9F
Podcast (Android): bit.ly/32c4Yje

Prayer: Jesus, show me things in my life that I need to lay down to pursue your agenda. Help me to only do what you want me to do and to say only what you want me to say.

Confidence isn’t a look but an identity. Confidence comes from who we are in Christ. We can have unwavering confidence when it is built upon the right foundation.

There are many ways to build up our confidence, but how do we build up our confidence the right way?

The world teaches us to have confidence in ourselves, but God teaches us to have confidence in Him. The truth is we aren’t enough to sustain our own confidence. There will be moments when we won’t feel good enough, qualified enough, pretty enough, etc. However, when we remember who we are in Christ, we never have to doubt our confidence because He is always enough.

In Christ, we can always have confidence despite how we feel or our circumstances—this is called unwavering confidence.

The Bible constantly directs us to put our confidence in God and not in ourselves. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.“

Psalm 62:6 reminds us that when God is our rock and fortress, we will not be shaken.

There have been many times in my own life when I doubted my capability to do an assignment. I remember not feeling good enough when God first called me to blog and speak, however, I reminded myself that if God is calling me to do this, He will equip me. It was through my own weakness that I found God’s strength to be enough.

When I had no words to say, He gave me the right words to speak.
When I didn’t feel good enough, He reminded me that I was good enough.
When I was lost, He showed me the way.

Don’t look to yourself for confidence but to God. It is through Christ that we can do all things (Phil. 4:13).

2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” His strength will always be enough to take us where we need to be. There are many people in the Bible who didn’t feel equipped for the call, but God reminded them that He was with them.

Will you look to God for confidence and put your trust in Him?

As you look to Jesus, He will show you who you are in Him and who He has created you to be. We all were created in Christ to do good works (Eph. 2:10). Now that you know where unwavering confidence comes from, learn 5 ways to build your confidence the right way by listening to our latest Podcast “How To Have Unwavering Confidence“:
Podcast (iPhone): apple.co/2zgmFTY
Podcast (Android): bit.ly/2zoXiQ7

There is no need for competition when we understand that we are all chosen by God for specific assignments and roles. We are all called to do our best in everything we do, but never with the motive to compete with one another. God has a specific place for you in the grand scheme of His plans. You are chosen by God.

God has been renewing my mind and re-defining my value with His truth. I always saw my value in comparison to others because I grew up constantly being compared to others.

If I wanted to feel beautiful, I had to be more beautiful than anyone else in the room. If I wanted to feel accomplished, I had to strive to accomplish more than everyone else in the room. I would try to find flaws in others to make myself feel better, however, this never helped because it only highlighted my insecurity.

I eventually learned that I was viewing my value from the wrong eyes instead of my Heavenly Father’s eyes. God showed me that He didn’t want me to live each day feeling insecure and not good enough. He reminded me that we are all beautiful because we were all made by the hands of God. Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

The world may have a definition of what makes someone beautiful or successful, but God doesn’t because He has made each of us unique and calls us beautiful.

God showed me that I didn’t have to compare myself with others or try to be the best. He opened my eyes to see that there is no such thing as being better than anyone because we all have different gifts and talents that He has chosen to give us. Romans 12:4-5 says, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”

God has given each of us different gifts and we were all meant to work together for His kingdom purposes. We each have our own unique place in God’s plan. He has chosen and positioned us where we need to be. We are not positioned where we are because we are better than others, but simply because God has chosen us there.

There’s no need to compete for a position or feel jealous when someone got the position you wanted. If you didn’t get the position you wanted, trust that God has a different position for you. Instead of competing with one another, let us appreciate one another. Competition leaves no room for love but is only self-centered. God tells us in Philippians 2:3-4, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

God has chosen each of us to serve Him and to bear fruit (John 15:16). We get to serve God and bear fruit in our own unique way. Let us all remember the assignment that we all have which is to glorify God in all that we do. God says in Isaiah 43:7, “everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

God has created you for a purpose and chosen you to live for Him. Will you look to Him for your value and purpose?

We don’t need to earn our value because our value is found in being a child of God. God is faithful and will take you where He wants you to be. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.

God is always working for our good. We don’t need to take His job of placing us where we need to be. As we focus on loving God and others, we will find our place in His kingdom and see that we have been chosen by Him. You are uniquely made, loved, and chosen. So remember, you are chosen by God.

It can be difficult to find the balance between trusting God and doing our part in our seasons of waiting. We know we’re not supposed to worry, but we also know that faith without works is dead. So where do we draw the line between it all? What do we do in the waiting?

Over the past years, I’ve had to learn how to navigate the divine tension of doing my part and trusting God to get me where I need to go. One thing the Lord reminded me of during my season of waiting is to not strive past His grace.

When you push yourself too hard in the gym, you injure yourself and end up pulling yourself out of the game. We can easily get excited about God’s promises and move ahead of God in hopes of achieving His promises faster than He may want to take us.

There is a journey to our promise land and God has His perfect timing for our destination. When we try to speed up God’s promises, we will end up restless and stressed.

If you are experiencing constant stress and lack of peace, then you may be pushing yourself beyond what God intended for you.

However, the opposite could happen. We could be relying on God yet neglect to do our part. If you want to build muscle, you can’t just sit there and stare at the barbell. You have to lift the weight beyond resistance without pushing your body too hard.

There must be a balance of us trusting God while doing our part in the season of waiting. The problem comes when we try to make things happen on our own because we’re afraid they won’t happen in the first place.

I’ve done that in the past where I was driven by fear instead of God’s favor.

When we try to make something happen out of fear instead of God’s favor, His promises never end up happening.

God has a perfect timing for His Promise. Trust the process.

When God seeds a promise inside your heart, He prepares you and prepares the promise for you. God is working in your waiting because He’s still preparing you. This season is crucial for where you’re headed. He is preparing you for the new anointing and blessing that is coming your way.

If you’re trying to control the outcome of God’s promise for your life, you’re not trusting in the One who gave you the desire in the first place.

Trust in God’s ability to open doors when the time is right. Psalm 90:17 says, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us.” God’s favor will establish our works and bring acceleration to see His promises come to pass.

If there’s a promise in your life that hasn’t been fulfilled yet, I want to encourage you to prepare yourself for it. Develop habits that make waiting on God’s timing easier. Press into His presence and word to comfort you when worry creeps in. Grow the skills that God has given you and serve where you’re planted. In the midst of waiting, the best way to grow your gift and prepare yourself is to serve others.

Surround yourself with people who are living in the promise that you’re believing for and sow into their dreams. As we sow into other’s dreams, we will reap those very dreams into our own lives (Galatians 6:7).

What is God calling you to do in your season of waiting? Are you running on God’s pace or your own pace? Have you been pushing yourself further than what God has intended?

Ask God to show you what your part to do in the season of waiting. There is always work in the waiting and it will look different for each of us. Trust God’s process and His ability to get you where you need to be. So remember, find your part and God’s part in the waiting.

How many of you have dreams that seem greater than yourself that at times you are afraid to share it with others?

Know that you’re not alone. It’s normal to have dreams that seem greater than yourself because it was God who put those very dreams in you. He gives us such dreams so that all would see His mighty hand working through our lives. Now is the time to step out and not be afraid to pursue our God-given dreams.

Our God-given dreams can either lead us to step out or step back. If we choose to give in to fear, we will step back and forget His dreams. If we choose to remember that God is with us, we will step out in faith.

God is calling us to step out in this season and pursue the very dreams He has put in our hearts to do.

God called out Joshua to lead the Israelites to obtain their promise land. It was a new and scary task, but God constantly reminded Joshua, “ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
⠀
This too is God’s command to you:

Be bold and courageous. Step out and don’t be afraid. I am with you.

Don’t let fear stop you from pursuing your God-given dreams. God may be calling you to step into an assignment that is new for you. Maybe you are questioning if you are capable of the assignment, but remember that God equips those He calls. God would never ask you to do something without believing you could do it. Just as God promised to be with Joshua, He also promises to be with us.

This is the season to ride the wave of acceleration He is bringing to the body of Christ. He is giving us His grace to complete His assignments and opening doors for us to reach more people.

As I prayed for this year, God emphasized that we abide in Him. I was led to Psalm 27:4 which says, “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

This is the key to abiding in Jesus – being in His presence and fixing our eyes on His beauty. When we become so consumed by Jesus, 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔. He fills us to a place where fear, doubt, or disappointment have no room to enter into our hearts.

Has worry or fear been holding you back from pursuing the venture that God has put in your heart?

Replace every worry with the truth that God is with you. All things are possible with God. Abide in Him and you will walk in His fullness no matter your circumstance. So remember, now is the time to step out.

Your purpose may not be as flashy and glamorous as someone else’s Instagram feed suggests to be, but you still have purpose. God created you with intention and knows your days from beginning to the end. He knows your potential and the gifts that He has placed in your life. If you’re breathing, you still have purpose.

When God told me to create a Christian Instagram account a few years ago, I wasn’t sure whether He meant it. I had been saved for a little more than half a year, I didn’t read my Bible every day, and I hadn’t found a community of believers.

There was still a lot to learn about faith and living with Jesus. I thought to myself, “Why would God want me to teach others?”

I had no idea where God would take this, but I said yes to Him and opened myself up for Him to use me in any way He wanted to.

God will always be the first to call us, but our first step is to give Him our yes.

Now I’m two years in since starting my Christian Instagram page. The journey hasn’t been perfect, but I have seen God touch lives through my faithful obedience.

I might not have the largest number of followers, but being able to encourage someone through this platform and contribute to God’s kingdom has been a huge blessing.

I’m not a perfect writer but I will continue to let God use me for His purpose – a purpose He determined long before I was born:

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” 2 Timothy 1:9

God’s unique calling for you is more than society’s expectations of you. You’re here today because of God’s beautiful plan. You get to be a part of His beautiful redemptive plan to restore humanity back to Him through Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

You may feel that your testimony and story has no worth to bring to this world, but you have a lot to share to the world if you have accepted Jesus and seen Him transform your life. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us that we have been brought from darkness into light to declare praises to Him.

If you don’t know Jesus, you still have the opportunity today to be a part of His beautiful plan for your life that He created you for. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

It breaks my heart to see so many women of all walks of life struggle with believing that they were born to make a difference. Part of the issue is the lies and standards that we place on ourselves from society.

The truth is you have purpose because Jesus made you with purpose.

Psalm 139:16 reminds us that God saw our unformed body and all the days of our lives were ordained before one of them came to be. God created each of us with purpose. Don’t let society’s standards lower your own value for yourself.

As long as your heart is beating, God longs to use you as His vessel to spread the gospel.

2 Thessalonians 2:14 says, “He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Your purpose may look different from others, but it is definitely meaningful and a part of God’s bigger plan. We will not always see the results of everything we do, but we can trust that God is taking our obedience and impacting lives.

It is Christ who equips and validates us now and forever.

Are you looking to Jesus for your worth? How can you actively be a living testimony through your everyday life?

Replace every lie that you’re not qualified enough with the truth that God’s will He will supply you with everything you need. God chose you for a purpose. Surrender everything to Him and enjoy the journey. So remember, as long as you’re breathing, you still have a purpose.

It’s God’s job to take us where we need to be, but it’s our job to be convinced of our calling. When we are convinced that we have an assignment from God, we will persevere and obey no matter the opposition we face.

There are many people in scripture who were called by God and persevered because they knew they carried an assignment from God. Esther is a great example of one who realized she was positioned for a purpose. Esther received favor from King Xerxes and was then crowned as queen. We find later that Haman (who was one of the royal nobles) made a decree to have all the Jews killed.

God sent Mordecai to remind Esther that God positioned her for a purpose. Mordecai tells her, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

God raised Esther up to be seated in her position because He knew that the Jews would need saving. Esther realized her purpose and rose to the occasion.

Opposition is bound to happen. There will be people who will go up to you and say you’re not good enough or question why you do what you do. It’s during these moments that we must remember who has called us and for what purpose. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Nehemiah was a leader who ran with a burden from God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He faced threats from others, but in the midst of the opposition, He prayed for strength from God. He proclaimed over his enemies, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding...” (Nehemiah 2:20).

Nehemiah continued re-building the walls in the midst of opposition because he knew His assignment came from God. He was convinced of His calling and knew that God would be with him to fulfill it. He ran with a burden that God had given him until he saw it to completion (Nehemiah 2:12).

We must run with a burden, knowing that our assignment comes from God.

Where has God positioned you and for what purpose? Will you continue to persevere despite the opposition that you face?

Jesus is the perfect example of one who knew His calling and fulfilled it. He was hungry to do the will of the Father. Though the disciples and Pharisees questioned Him, Jesus knew that He was destined to redeem us through his death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.

Hebrews 12:1-3 reminds us, “…let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.“

Let us be convinced of who God has called us to be. Know that He is faithful to fulfill His call over our lives if we surrender ourselves to Him. So remember, are you convinced of your calling?

What happens when life doesn’t go the way you pictured it? Maybe you are in a place where you never imagined yourself being at. Even if you seem far from the dreams that God has put in your heart, trust His process. God is faithful even in the places we never would imagine ourselves to be at. God’s ways are always for our good and for the purpose of helping others.

We see God’s faithfulness throughout the life of Joseph in scripture. God had given Joseph dreams of him being placed as a leader with authority, yet he found himself so far off from the dream God gave him.

Joseph got sold as a slave and went in prison, yet God was still faithful. Genesis 39:21 says, “the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.” Because God granted favor for Joseph in the eyes of the prison warden, Joseph was put in charge of the prison.

God was faithful to Joseph even in the place he least expected himself to ever be at. God granted Him favor and responsibility and was preparing Joseph for His calling.

Just as God was faithful to Joseph, He is also faithful to us even in the places we may never have pictured ourselves to be at. We don’t have to wait until we’ve reached our promise land to experience God’s faithfulness – He is faithful along the journey of our purpose.

As I read into Joseph’s life, God reminded me of how He has been faithful to me. I haven’t arrived at my destination, but even in the journey of walking into my God-given purpose I have seen God open doors for leadership positions and entrust me with people to disciple. He had recently opened the door for me to be a part of the PF Women’s Ministry team and lead their young adult’s section. I still have other goals and desires in my heart, but I am embracing what He is giving me today.

We see God giving Joseph responsibility throughout his journey into his purpose. No matter where God placed Him, Joseph was entrusted with much. He was even granted responsibility of the household of Potiphar. Genesis 39:6 says, “So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge…“

Joseph was faithful in everything that he did and God entrusted to him more. Joseph was that faithful servant that Jesus spoke about in Luke 12:44. Jesus says, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.”

Joseph never imagined himself going through all that he went through, but he later realized that God was setting himself up to His purpose and to help others. Joseph later says to his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20).

God never forgot His promises to Joseph. He too has not forgotten the promises He has spoken over your life. Embrace the season that you are in today and be His faithful servant in everything that you do. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.“

How can you be a good steward of the things God has entrusted you in this season? God’s ways are never our ways, but we can trust that His ways are always good.
