Many times we stop at asking God and don’t take the time to seek for what we ask. God has given us the ability to seek Him and the very things we ask for. Are you seeking God?
There have been times when I have stopped at just asking God in prayer what I need. I’ve prayed prayers like, “Jesus, root me in your love.” I would stop there and go on with my day.
God however has been reminding me of the importance of seeking out what I have asked for in prayer. When we ask God in prayer, He opens the door for us to find what we are asking in our seeking.
God promises those who seek will find. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
As we seek God for what we have asked, He will show us the revelation we are seeking and it is then that we can knock at the door and receive what we have asked for.
If you are seeking a breakthrough, don’t settle for just saying a prayer and hoping your breakthrough will come. Seek for your breakthrough.
God has given us the ability to seek the very things we ask for by His Holy Spirit. Take time to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and seek what you have asked for.
If you’re needing emotional healing, seek Jesus for that healing.
If you’re needing provision, seek Jesus for the wisdom and direction you need.
If you’re wanting to see God more real, seek Jesus to reveal God.
The Bible is the first place we should always turn to as we seek. Invite the Holy Spirit as you open the Bible to reveal Jesus and the revelation you need to receive what you have asked for.
We must also remember that seeking Jesus means we are willing to forsake all that He asks of us to pursue Him. It’s not enough to just read our Bible but disobey Jesus. We must get to a place where we realize that Jesus is the only one who can satisfy us and lead us to the path of life.
Only Jesus can satisfy us and provide for all our needs. Jesus says it Himself in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
As humans, we all are seeking satisfaction and eternal security. Only Jesus can provide these two things. Only He can satisfy our hunger and meet our thirst.
Money is never secure, people will fail us, and this life that we have is temporal. Jesus however has riches beyond what money could ever have for us. He is our ultimate provider and protector. In Him, we too find eternal life because He is life (John 1:4).
Are you taking time to seek Jesus yourself daily? He promises that those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
We need to constantly check our hearts if there is any desire to please the things of this world rather than God. God commands us to not love anything in the world: The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16).
It can be easy to tolerate a mixture and believe we love God yet a part of us still loves sin.
We can be leading at church, but are we tolerating lust in our thoughts and actions? Are we dressing to entice others in a sexual way? Are we serving God yet interested in making ourselves famous?
God makes it clear that “if anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them” (1 John 2:15). God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). The only way to love God with our whole being is to not love anything else that is not of Him.
If you are struggling with loving Jesus wholeheartedly, seek Him wholeheartedly. When we truly find Jesus and His love for us, we can then love Him back rightly.
Will you take time to seek Jesus with all your heart? He is God and life. Nothing else in this life is worth living for.
He has been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth (Proverbs 8:23). Why would we not forsake our lives for the One who is everlasting and Lord over all?
Jesus promises that those who seek Him diligently will find Him (Proverbs 8:17). Our eternal God can be found if we would just determine in our hearts to seek Him and turn away from any wrongdoings we have against God.
Jesus says in Matthew 16:25, “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”
We take time to search for what is valuable. If $1000 was hidden for you, you’d take the time to go and find it. We should do the same when it comes to seeking Jesus. He is more valuable than the riches of this world. He owns everything and is the Creator of all things. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
Jesus has given us the privilege to seek and know Him and His secrets. It is our glory to find Jesus because in Him are riches, honor, and life (Proverbs 22:4). So remember, seek God.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for satisfying all our needs. As we navigate through life, may we always remember to seek You first above all. You are the only one who can save us and bring us eternal life.
