We become undone in a beautiful way when we know God’s mercy. The mercy of God roots us securely in His love to live a victorious life. Know God’s mercy.
There is only One God who has shown us love and mercy and that is the God of the Bible. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
God didn’t have to save us, but He wanted to even if it would cost Him Jesus. Jesus willingly came down on earth as a man (though He was God) and suffered to the point of dying on the cross so that we may be cleansed of our sins and saved if we would believe and abide in Him.
God knew we couldn’t save ourselves so He sacrificed His only begotten Son to save us because He so loves us. No other gods in this world love you, but only the God of Abraham does and He proved it by sending Jesus to die for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8).
How often do you think about God’s unfailing love for you?
Our hearts were made to be overflowing with God’s love and it starts with us pondering the love of God and remembering that He has brought us out of darkness and saved us by His mercy through Jesus. Psalm 107:43 says, “Let the one who is wise heed these things and ponder the loving deeds of the Lord.“
It is wise for us to ponder God’s unfailing love for us so that we never step out of His love. We stay hungry for more of God as we take time to ponder God’s mercy for us. He promises to always satisfy the hungry with good things (Psalm 107:9).
There is no greater love than God’s love. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever (Psalms 107:1).
Know that you MATTER to God. If you didn’t matter to God, He wouldn’t have sent Jesus to die for you. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Your life may be small compared to the Almighty God, but He cares so much for you. He was willing to sacrifice Jesus for you and call people to point you to His true love.
Psalm 8:4 says, “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
Unlike other religions where we are required to be our own savior, God sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to be our Savior.
There are depths to knowing God’s mercy which has the power to perfect us in His love. There is a love that fills us like no other, one that is strong as death: a love that can’t be separated from us just as we can’t avoid death; a love that has the brightest kind of flame— this is the love of God for us (Song of Solomon 8:6).
Ephesians 2:4-5 says, “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
May God’s love never grow old. Take time today and every day to remember that it is by God’s mercy that you are where you are today and alive in Christ. Because of His great love for us, we never have to live in regret and be doomed in hell as long as we make Jesus our Lord and Savior and abide in Him.
Come hungry every day to know the mercy of God because His love satisfies us like no other.
The love of Jesus can mend any broken and empty heart. No matter what you are going through today, remember the rich mercy of God for you in Jesus.
It was prophesied thousands of years ago that a child would be given to us as our Savior. He wouldn’t be like a regular child but would be God coming on earth as a man.
Isaiah 9:6-7 says, “For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace, there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.“
This child is Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
His reign will never end. Jesus came to die, but He resurrected because He is God, and is now seated on the throne at the right hand of God (Ephesians 1:20). When Jesus comes back, the earth will pass away but His kingdom will last forever.
Let’s not forget the most important thing in life which is our King Jesus.
It was also prophesied years prior to Jesus’s coming that the Messiah would come from a virgin (Isaiah 7:14). It is impossible for a virgin woman to have a child, but God can do the impossible. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in Mary’s womb as a sign that He is God who came as a man to be the Savior of the world.
The night Jesus was conceived as a baby was the start of the fulfillment of a love so divine. Before the world was even made, Jesus was determined to die for us because He so loves us (Revelation 13:8).
Let us cherish His birth and remember the mercy of God and His great love for us. Though Jesus was God, He chose to humble himself and put on flesh to die for us. Ask God to give you a greater revelation of His love and mercy for you. So remember, know God’s mercy.
Prayer: God, thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for sending Your only son to die for us and showing us a level of grace that no man or god has ever shown us before. We are grateful for your love which is truly one of a kind.
