Living with no fear is possible when we know that God is watching over our lives. It’s not our job to protect ourselves—it’s God’s job to protect us.
I didn’t realize that living with suspicion was me living worried. I grew up seeing unfaithfulness in my parent’s marriage which caused me to always live on guard with my marriage. I had a million “what ifs” about my marriage falling apart. However, God had to remind me that it’s not my job to watch over my marriage, but His job.
As long as I took God’s role of watching over my life, I could never live free from anxiety because only God is able to truly protect me and the people I love. Knowing that God is watching over my life allows me to have peace of mind that I’ll always be in good hands.
You don’t have to live with your guard up because it’s God’s job to protect you. When we try to take God’s role in protecting ourselves, we end up living with anxiety. Freedom comes when we surrender everything to Jesus, including our fears.
What fears do you need to release into God’s hands?
God wants us to trust our lives in His hands. Though we are to use wisdom and do our part, God ultimately is the one who shields and guides us from harm. Let us live simply doing what Jesus says and trusting the rest in His hands. When our lives are in God’s hands, we have 100% assurance that everything is going to be okay. We are God’s children, and like any good father, our Father in heaven loves us and only has the best in store for us.
Instead of looking to ourselves or others for help, look to Jesus. Make Psalm 20:7 your declaration: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”
The solution to fear is believing that God is available and able to protect you. Psalm 121:7 says, “The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;” It’s not your job to protect yourself—it’s God’s job.
Your source of help comes from the Lord. Peace comes when we realize that our help comes from God. Apart from Jesus, you can do nothing. Instead of stressing and trying to solve things in your own strength, rely on God who is your Savior for everything you need. There is not one thing in our lives that God does not see. He knows all our needs even before we tell Him (Matt. 6:8).
Will you trust every part of your life in God’s hands?
As long as you are hiding your life in Christ, your life belongs safely in His hands. Psalm 91:1 is God’s promise to those who love Him. He promises that no matter what happens around us, we will always rest safely under His shadow.
Not even death can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38). Don’t let fear be a thing you tolerate in your life. God has freed us from fear so that we can live life with joy and freedom. So remember, it’s God’s job to protect.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you that it’s your job to protect me, and not my own. Help me to trust my life in your hands.
