God’s love for us is greater than our shortcomings. Though we don’t deserve His love, God still extended His love to us through His Son Jesus. He gave us a love we don’t deserve.

Have you ever felt so undeserving of God’s love? I remember when I first gave my life to Jesus, I felt so undeserving of His love. I had lived my life full of lies and wrongdoing that it was hard for me to grasp that God could ever love me the same again.

Yet I learned during that time that His love is unconditional. He doesn’t love us because we are good, He loves us because He is love. To this day, I never want to forget what God did for me. I never want to forget that if it wasn’t for Jesus dying on the cross, I wouldn’t be able to have a life to the fullest nor eternal life with Him.

I deserved death, yet God sent Jesus to give me life.

We all deserved death because we were all born into sin, but God so loved us that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). Our sin didn’t stop God from loving us. It was in our sin that God decided to make a way for us to be redeemed back to Him.

God proved His love to us by sending Jesus to die on the cross for us (Romans 5:8).

We didn’t deserve God’s love, yet He loved us anyway.

God loves us so much to even warn us what is to come if we don’t accept Jesus and live in Him. John 3:18 says, “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” We can easily think that Jesus came to condemn us, but He didn’t come to condemn us. Jesus came to this world to save us (John 3:17). It is now our choice whether we want to accept God’s gift of love and have eternal life, or deny Jesus and accept a future of eternal damnation in hell.

God’s kindness was meant to turn us away from sin and to repentance. Romans 2:4 says, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

God already gave us mercy to save us, why would we deny it and choose to live a life of sin that only leads us to darkness and eternity in hell? We’ve been given the right to be children of God through Jesus and to experience a joyful life. Take that right that has been given to you.

You were made to enjoy life and to walk in the light. You have been given a love that is so high, wide, deep, and long. Why not accept this love?

Pray and ask God to give you a deeper revelation of His love for you. He so longs for you to see His love and be made new in Jesus. This is your time to shine and truly live life the way you were created to live. So remember, we have a love we don’t deserve.
