Jesus Chose You

by | Aug 30, 2023

The key to being rooted in God’s love is to look at the cross. The cross is proof of God’s love for you because He gave His only begotten Son for you. Jesus chose you when He chose the cross.

I’ve struggled in the past with insecurity and always feeling not good enough. I found my breakthrough in the simplicity of remembering how I am chosen, wanted, and loved by God.

The moment when insecure thoughts come, I look back to the cross and remember how Jesus chose to die for me because He wanted me.

Not only did Jesus choose to die or me, but He too chose to die for you. When Jesus chose the cross, He chose you

You are so loved by Jesus that He was determined before the foundations of the world to die for us so that His blood could cleanse us to be one with Him for eternity (Rev. 13:8).

No one likes the feeling of not being chosen or wanted. The good news is you are chosen, wanted, and loved by Jesus

Whenever you are feeling unloved, look to the cross and remember God’s great love for you. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

You were made to live in the light and walk out of darkness through Jesus. His light is wonderful.

Jesus chose you to be His by choosing to die on the cross. Now it’s our time to choose Jesus back and turn away from all the sin that entangles us.

1 Peter 2:9-10 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Jesus made us to bear fruit that will last for eternity — to not be overcome by sin but to overcome sin through Christ and display the power of God’s glory.

Jesus says in John 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

Jesus has chosen and appointed us to bear fruit that will last. We were not made to live a defeating life but a victorious one. Our source of strength comes by simply abiding in Jesus and relying on His strength. Jesus has given us His Spirit who lives in us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Jesus says in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

There is no better shepherd for our lives than Jesus. He is the good Shepherd, the only God who is willing and has died for us. Jesus willfully endured suffering so that we wouldn’t have to suffer for our sins. He removed every curse upon us on the cross so that we could reign as children of God here on earth and for eternity.

Just as a sheep needs to follow the Shepherd to be protected, we need to follow Jesus to find an abundant life. Jesus says in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

Whenever you feel unloved or afraid of your future, look to Jesus and remember that He is your good Shepherd.

As children of God, we have God Himself who watches over us (Psalm 121:5). Imagine having the best security team watching over you constantly. You most likely won’t be feeling afraid. The great news is that we have a God who is greater than any best security team in this world.

This world can’t guarantee anything to us, but God’s Word can.

We can rest in God’s love knowing that He will never stop watching over us as we abide in Him.

Psalm 121:7-8 says, “The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

God loves us so much that He was willing to send His only begotten Son Jesus to die for us. Out of His abundant love, He desires to watch our lives and keep us close to Him.

Will you choose to give your life to Jesus and walk into His wonderful light, as His beloved and chosen one?

Jesus chose you to be His. There is no better place than to be in the hands of Jesus. So remember, Jesus chose you.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for choosing us. When doubts arise, may we remember that You chose us. You died on the cross because You saw our worth.
