Tomorrow is not promised to us and we have only one life to live on this earth. This is the time to keep your lamps burning because Jesus is coming back soon.
I’ve been convicted of not burning for what Jesus burns for which is souls. He longs to see all saved. I’ve had days where I chose to only fix my eyes on my to-do’s and leave no time to pray for unsaved friends and family members. I have also refused to share Jesus with people at the store because of my own convenience.
God showed me I was not burning for Him because of my lack of intimacy with Him. The only way for us to keep our lamps burning for Jesus is to have intimate fellowship with Him daily. Jesus is a consuming fire, so as we allow Him to consume us, our lamps will keep burning.
Jesus says in Luke 12:35-37, “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes.”
Are we living every day ready and watching for Jesus to come back? Or are we living selfishly and forgetting that in any moment Jesus can come back? Have we been living in sin, numb from the presence of Jesus and not having a fear of God?
These are questions we need to ask ourselves every day. May we never be lacking in zeal, but keep our spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11)
Are you living in a way that allows Jesus to redeem the times when you were lost and bound in darkness? When we did not know Jesus, we spent our time on things that either kept us bound or made no eternal impact.
Now that we know Jesus and are one with Him, He has the power to redeem the time we lost for His glory.
The times we lost to know Him can now be accelerated by His grace. The opportunities we could have shared Jesus with someone can now be made open, and the time wasted in sin can now go towards serving God and others.
What do you need to remove in your life to allow Jesus to redeem your time? What are you called to steward and do in this season?
Today is the day we need to get our lives right with Jesus and give Him our all. Jesus says in Luke 12:40, “You also must be ready because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
We are called to live ready and expectant for Jesus’s coming. This means we should never put off getting our lives right with Jesus. At any moment Jesus can come back to judge the world.
Now is the time to run to Jesus and embrace His mercy by turning away from all that is dark. Hebrews 9:28 says that Jesus will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.
Will you live every day ready and waiting for Jesus’s second coming?
Nothing can come to the glory we will receive in the age to come with Jesus. Our greatest joy should be in eternity with Jesus.
Jesus is coming back for us and preparing a place in heaven for those who accept Him as their Lord and Savior. (John 14:3). Let us live every day expectant and ready for when Jesus comes back.
Matthew 24:27 says, “For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
When Jesus comes back, ALL will see Him coming with the clouds. There is only ONE God and ONE hope we have and that is Jesus. Nothing in this world can promise us eternal life but only Jesus. Let us live every day burning for Jesus and seeking Him.
Our lives are like the grass and flowers of the field — we will die at some point. The Word of God however will endure forever. Without Jesus, our glory is temporary, but in Jesus, our glory will last for eternity
1 Peter 1:24-25 says, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Let us live each day fighting the good fight of faith with the aim of taking hold of eternal life (1 Timothy 6:12). How you live today affects your eternity. It can be easy to be consumed with our day-to-day life, but we must live with eternity in mind. Revelation 11:15 says, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever.”
Today is the day we have to live burning for Jesus and putting aside all fleshly desires. “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life” (Galatians 6:8). So remember, keep your lamps burning for Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, may we embrace and burn for you every day of our lives. As we await your return, may we live each day seeking and loving You. You are deserving of all our time and attention.
