The precious blood of Jesus will never lose its power to cleanse and heal us. The blood of Jesus is precious because it is the only thing that can remove the permanent stain of sin.
Let us never lose our awe and wonder for what Jesus did on the cross for us. If Jesus never died on the cross for us, we would suffer from every curse that comes with sin, which includes sickness and eternal death apart from God. BUT, He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Now that Jesus has taken our sins upon His own body and covered our sins with His blood, we no longer have to suffer the consequences of sin. The mistakes we make and the nature of our sin in the flesh can no longer condemn us, as we choose to repent and live for Jesus.
Sin was handed down to us; but now, in Christ, we are a new creation and have been set free from the bondage of sin (2 Corinthians 5:17). We no longer have to deal with shame or condemnation when we say “yes” to Jesus and surrender our lives to obey Him. We no longer have to live a life of sin, which only leads to death, because Jesus shed His blood on the cross for us.
It is by faith that we receive the power of the blood of Jesus. No matter how bad your past is, know that the blood of Jesus is mighty to save and cleanse you.
We have a savior who is MIGHTY to save and so loves us. Jesus is God, yet He humbled Himself to death on the cross FOR US. There is always hope in Jesus. His blood never fails.
His death on the cross proves HOW MUCH He loves us. He didn’t have to die for us, yet He chose to out of love. Jesus never defended Himself because He knew He had to die in order for us to be saved and have eternal life with Him. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter because He loved us so much (Isaiah 53:7).
Jesus’ last 3 words on the cross, “It is finished,” must have brought Him the greatest joy because He knew that nothing could ever separate us from Him again (Romans 8:38-39). We get to receive every promise of God because of Jesus shedding His blood for us. Let us remember the love of Jesus and never turn back to what robbed us of eternal life. We must walk in the light as Jesus is in the light. “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Will you ask God to give you a greater revelation of how precious His blood is?
Take time every day to give thanks and remember that the blood of Jesus has restored to us everything that was lost because of sin. We would be stuck with living a burdened and anxious life filled with darkness and shame if it wasn’t for the blood of Jesus shed for us. We would fear death, knowing that we will suffer in hell apart from God if Jesus didn’t offer Himself for us. BUT, because of Jesus shedding His blood for us on the cross, we now have redemption—abundant life in fellowship with God.
There is no life apart from God, but through Jesus, we have access to God, who is eternal life itself. The grace that was so freely given to us from Jesus was meant to draw us back to Him.
Will you turn away from darkness and choose Jesus?
We serve a God who is ALIVE forevermore, and His name is Jesus! We no longer have to fear death, because, in Christ, death no longer has a hold of us. Jesus says in Revelation 1:18, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. And I have the keys of Hades and Death.”
Jesus rose from the dead and rose on the third day after His crucifixion. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to us because of His Spirit who lives in us (Romans 8:11). How do we have Jesus’ Spirit living in us? By simply believing that He is our Savior, and giving our lives to obey Him. There is no other joy we can experience outside of laying our lives down for Jesus.
Will you give Him your complete “yes” today?
When life tries to steal your joy, look to the cross and be thankful that we have the greatest gift, which is right standing with God and eternal life with Him. May the cross never lose its wonder in our hearts. Out of God’s love for us, He rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves (Colossians 1:13).
We can have peace today because of the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross for us. Let us always live with the cross before us, loving Jesus with all we have. So remember, the blood of Jesus is precious.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross to save me. Help me to live every day of my life for you.
