Jesus actively cares about what you care about. He invites you to cast your cares on Him so that you can take upon His peace. Cast your cares on Jesus.
I have to be intentional to catch myself worrying and instead cast my cares to Jesus— to choose not to worry and instead trust Jesus.
Worrying has been something I tolerated for so long and without me realizing it, I have been holding on to worrying about our finances and how we are to obtain a home and so much more. As I spent time with Jesus, He led me to 1 Peter 5:6 which says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
I looked up the Greek meaning of the word “cares.” It is a verb that means to be of concern or to be of interest. This gave me peace knowing that Jesus is actively concerned about what I am concerned about so I don’t need to be worried.
Instead of worrying, Jesus was inviting me to give Him my worries and trust He is for my good and will do what I can’t do on my own.
Whether you are worried about your loved ones, finances, or future, know that Jesus too cares about these things and He is more than able to meet your every need. As children of God who have made Jesus their Lord, we have access to His protection and provision.
Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus invites us to exchange our worries for His peace. What have you been worrying about? Will you give your worries to Jesus and trust that He will take care of you?
Believing in God’s Word will always be safe and reliable. Only God’s Word (the Bible) is perfect— no system or person is flawless like God’s Word. Psalm 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”
We were never made to carry worry and our “what ifs”, but rather to cast our cares on Jesus and trust that He is our place of refuge— our place of security now and for eternity.
Where do you go to for help in times of trouble? Do you look to yourself, others, or Jesus for help? Will you look to Jesus, turn to God’s Word, and believe in what He says? Will you cast your cares on Jesus?
God is good. No matter what our circumstances may be, we must root our faith in God’s goodness and not in the condition of our circumstances. We may be hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed (2 Cor. 4:8-9).
We can still find God’s love and strength even in hard times as we abide in Jesus. He will always be our strength when our flesh is burdened. Rest and know that God is good and His love for us endures forever (Psalm 100:5).
We also have eternity as a promise from Jesus that there will be no more pain. Isaiah 60:20 says, “Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.”
As we remember that Jesus is our good Shepherd, we will leave no room for worry. We can cast our cares on Jesus knowing He cares about our lives (including the people involved in our lives) and our future. So remember, cast your cares on Jesus.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for caring for what we care about. We trust you Jesus exchange our worries for your peace because we know that you will take care of all our needs.
