There’s No Need To Worry

by | Jan 23, 2019

When circumstances don’t turn out the way we want, we can easily worry. However, there should be no reason for us to worry. God knows what we need and has already gone before us. There’s no need to worry.

As a Christian, I know not to worry but I still found myself worrying over my financial situation. God had asked me to let go of my full-time job to pursue Living Revelations Ministries. This was such an inconvenient time for me because I just got married and my husband is currently not working full time either.

I found myself racing with doubtful thoughts. How are we going to keep ourselves sustained in the long run? We have to eat, bills to pay, and the list went on. My worries became so severe that I started to have bad thoughts about my husband and where God was calling me.

During my time with God, He told me to go to Matthew 6. My immediate response to Him was, “I already know Matthew 6.” That was the chapter where God talks about not worrying. He kept pressing me to open to that chapter so I did.

As I read Matthew 6, this passage hit me:

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matthew 6:31-32

God reminded me that He knows what I need. If he knows what I need, why am I worrying about what I need?

God has already gone ahead of me and knows the best for me. My husband’s parents even opened their home for us to stay temporarily as we look for a home for ourselves. God reminded me that He knew we needed a place to live so He put it in their hearts to let us stay at their place.

Worrying disregards the fact that God has already gone before us and has planned good things ahead of us.

God knows that we need to eat and survive and He would never ask us to do something that would harm our future. His word says He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Lord opened my eyes to see that He knows what I need and that it’s not my job to worry about it. Worrying doesn’t help our situation but only leads us to sin and bad thoughts. Matthew 6:27 says, “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

God gave me a vision of a girl in a nice mansion, worrying about what she will eat and what she will wear. God said I was that girl. I believe many of us are like that girl in that mansion, resting in the care of our heavenly father who is rich with abundant treasures, yet worrying about our lives and how we will survive.

We don’t have to worry about our lives if we are in right standing with God and living in His will. God promises that the righteous will inherit His blessings. Psalm 37:25-26 says, ” I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.”

God also says in Psalm 37:18 “The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.

God is a good father who blesses His children. He will never forsake those who dwell in His shelter. God says those who dwell in His shelter will rest in His shadow (Psalm 91:1). When we choose to abide in Him, we can be sure that He will be the protector of our lives.

Have you been dwelling in worry? Will you entrust your life to Jesus as you surrender to Him?

God knows where He’s leading you. It may seem scary and His plans may not be your plans, but trust that His plans are always better. He knows the best way for you to get to your promise land. This is the year to step out in faith and follow Him. So remember, there’s no need to worry.

Prayer: Lord, you are a good father and I thank you that I am under your care.
